You can cancel a Bike Hub Pay deal yourself from the deal page in most cases. A cancellation needs the other party to agree, and where money has already been paid, the buyer is refunded in full by EFT (no fee is withheld).
Note: Buyers or sellers who repeatedly renege on deals without reasonable grounds may be suspended from the Bike Hub Pay service, or Bike Hub in general.
Cancel from the deal page
Open the deal you want to cancel.
Look for the cancel or return button. The exact wording depends on the stage of the deal.
Add your reason and send the request. We notify the other party, and the deal cancels once they agree.
What happens at each stage
Before payment
No money has changed hands. Once the other party agrees, the deal cancels and the seller's advert automatically goes live again.
After payment, before the item ships
Once the other party agrees, Bike Hub refunds the buyer in full by EFT and the seller's advert goes live again.
After the item has shipped
You start a return rather than a straight cancellation. The item is returned via a trackable courier (usually at the buyer's cost). Once the return is confirmed, the buyer is refunded in full by EFT. See how to request a refund after receiving the item.
If you're waiting for an EFT payment to clear
There is one short window where the cancel option isn't available: after you've made an EFT payment that we haven't yet received and allocated. The deal sits in an in-between state while we wait for the funds to reflect.
If you no longer want to go ahead, wait for the payment to clear. Once it does, the cancel option becomes available again and you can request the cancellation and refund.
If you need help sooner, contact us (below) with your deal number and we'll assist.
