How to request a refund after receiving the item

The steps to take to request a Bike Hub Pay refund

Written by Matt Eagar

If you've received an item through Bike Hub Pay and it isn't right (not as described, faulty, or the wrong item), you can request a return and refund from the deal page. Bike Hub refunds you in full by EFT once the item is back with the seller. No fee is withheld.

Do this within your 48-hour inspection window - that is, within 48 hours of delivery, before you complete the deal. If you complete the deal (or it auto-completes after 48 hours), payment is released to the seller.

Step 1: Start the return on the deal page

Open the deal and start a return using the return option on the deal page. Add your reason (for example, not as described or faulty) and send it. This notifies the seller of your return request. The return goes ahead once the seller agrees.

Step 2: Send the item back

Once the seller agrees:

  • Return the item using a trackable courier (return shipping is usually the buyer's cost, unless you agree otherwise).

  • Enter the tracking number on the deal page.

  • Confirm the bank account your refund should be paid into.

Step 3: Get your refund

Once the seller confirms they've received the return, Bike Hub refunds you in full by EFT. You'll be notified when the refund is on its way to your bank account.
