Paid for a Bike Hub Pay deal by EFT? Here is roughly when the money reaches us, and what to check if it is taking longer than expected.
How long an EFT takes
Standard EFT from other banks reflects within 1-2 working days. These are indicative guidelines and actual timing may vary by bank:
Paid before 16h00 on a weekday: reflects first thing the next day.
Paid after 16h00 on a weekday: reflects first thing two days later (e.g. paid Tuesday at 5pm reflects first thing Thursday).
Paid before 09h30 on a Saturday: reflects first thing on Sunday.
Paid outside those hours over a weekend: reflects first thing on Tuesday.
Want it to clear faster?
A standard EFT is the slowest way to pay. If you have not paid yet, there are quicker options:
Card: the fastest option. Card payments confirm immediately, so the deal moves straight on to the next step. Choose it on the payment step of the deal.
PayShap: clears within seconds. Limits and availability vary by bank.
Instant EFT: when you make the transfer, choose your bank's instant or real-time payment option rather than a standard EFT. It usually reflects within minutes. Most banks charge a little more for it.
Whichever you use, the reference and amount still need to match the deal exactly.
My payment should be reflecting by now. What do I do?
Two things are worth a quick check:
Reference number: Confirm you used the exact reference for your deal.
Amount: Confirm the amount paid matches the amount required on the deal exactly.
