Bike Hub is South Africa's largest dedicated cycling marketplace, created by cyclists, for cyclists. Whether you're upgrading, downsizing, or clearing out the garage, there's no better place to sell your bike and gear to a huge community of active cyclists.
What does it cost?
Private sellers: Posting an advert is free for private individuals selling their own gear.
Business sellers: A small listing fee is charged per advert for business users. Learn more here.
Step 1: Sign up or Log in
If you're new to Bike Hub you'll need to sign up for an account and log in before you'll be able to create an advert.
Step 2: Start creating your ad
Click the blue 'Sell' button in the top right-hand corner of your screen to start a new advert. This opens the Post your Ad page, where you'll fill in everything below on a single page.
Choose a category
Select a category from the drop down boxes that best matches the item that you are advertising. If you're unsure what to choose, you can view all the categories available here and see other ads listed in the various categories.
Enter the advert details
Enter the title and description of your advert, whether you are selling or looking to buy, and the price and condition of the item. Not sure what to ask? See our guide on how to price a second-hand bicycle.
Get paid safely with Bike Hub Pay
Bike Hub Pay lets buyers make offers and pay for your item securely through Bike Hub, with their money protected until the deal is complete.
For private sellers this is switched on automatically, so buyers can pay you safely without you needing to do anything. Business and dealer sellers can choose whether to allow it using the toggle on the page. See how Bike Hub Pay works.
Enter your location and contact info
Select your location to show potential buyers where you are located.
You can also choose to add a phone number to show on the advert, but this is optional. By default, Bike Hub's Messenger is enabled on every advert so buyers can contact you directly through the site.
Add photos of the item
Under Photos you can upload images of the item that you are selling.
Use photographs of your actual item and not photographs that you find on the internet. Take care to capture the notable aspects of your item including any signs of wear and tear.
Adverts with images get more views and enquiries, so it's worth adding these!
Boost your advert
Under Boost Your Ad you can select individual boosts to increase the visibility of your advert. Options include a Bump to push your ad back to the top of the listings, Top Ad and Homepage Ad placements for premium positions, and a Highlight to make your listing stand out. See all the ways to promote your advert.
Post the ad!
That's it, you're ready to post the ad. Just click the Post Advert button at the bottom of the page.
If you selected any of the boost options, or are a Business user, you'll be directed to a payment screen to select your preferred payment method and complete your advert.
After you post
You can edit, place on hold, or manage your advert at any time from your account. When your item sells, remember to mark it as sold so buyers know it's no longer available.
