My Boosted Advert

When you have an active Homepage Feature or Top Ad boost you will see it displayed with a green “Active Boost” label to confirm that it is active and demonstrate where it will show.

For other people visiting Bike Hub (or when you are logged out of your account), these adverts are displayed in rotation to share the space equally with other boosted adverts.

Find out how to track the performance of your boosts here.

How do Homepage Feature Ads display?

A Homepage boost shows your advert on the Bike Hub homepage and Classifieds homepage in equal rotation with the other Homepage Featured adverts.

The frequency that you Homepage Feature displays depends on the total number of the active Homepage Feature ads sharing the space at the time.

How do Top Ad boosts display?

The Top Ad upgrade creates a copy of your original advert which is displayed on rotation within the top 3-4 upgraded adverts at the top of the listing or search page. So while it may not appear at the top all the time, all adverts with this upgrade will all get their share of time in the space.

When the search criteria are broad and there is a high demand for Top Ad space in a particular category (e.g. "All Ads" or "Mountain Bikes") it does mean that the frequency with which your advert is displayed will reduce.

However, within a specific search intent, e.g. by brand ("Trek" or "Top Fuel"), or price range, or a specific province ("Gauteng"), your Top Ad will be shown far more frequently - if not all the time. This is how most buyers search the classifieds and it means that your advert targets buyers with a real interest in your advert.

Why do Homepage Feature and Top Ads rotate?

The Classifieds are viewed over 100,000 times a day, so even if you don't see it all the time, there are a significant number of viewers who do.

If upgrades were on permanent display, the fee would be unaffordable to account for all the Top Ad impressions a permanent placement, that excludes any other adverts, in that space would receive.

Bump Ad

A Bump promotion brings the advert back to the top of the listing. It will move down the pages as new adverts are placed.
